Schedule for Oct.9th-15th

カテゴリー: schedule, 未分類

Hello,

Oct 9th is Taiiku no hi, or Health-Sports Day, a national holiday.

It was designated in 1966 to commemorate the opening day of the Tokyo Olympics held in 1964.

On this day a lot of sporting events are held all over Japan.

As for “Rest”, there are 2 kinds of “rest”.

One is an just “rest”; sleeping on bed, getting massage, and so on.

The other is “Active rest”.

An active rest day is meant to be a light or easy day where you’re still moving,

but not at the intensity you normally move.

Taking an active rest day will hasten your recovery,

making you feel stronger and faster when you’re back in workout-mode.

There are many ways you can spend your active rest day, but here are a few suggestions:

1. Go for a hike
2. Swim (swimming really helps with soreness)
3. Go for a bike ride
4. Do some yoga
5. Go for a light jog
6. Run around with your dog/kids
7. Play a sport (you’ll want to be careful here, if you go too hard you might not get to count it as a rest day)
8. Go for a walk outdoors
9. Do some light jump roping or bodyweight exercises such as air squats

Let’s take a yoga class, and feel good and be active in this beautiful season!
